Director of Student Support Services & Learning Support Services

The College of Integrated Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Rock County Campus is seeking a Director of Student Support Services and Learning Support Center (ACADEMIC PROGRAM DIRECTOR (B), AE127).
The anticipated start date is January 8th, 2024.
JOB DETAILS:
The Director of Student Support Services and the Learning Support Center directly oversees the federal TRIO Student Support Services program and the Learning Support Center on the UW-Whitewater, Rock County campus.
This includes being responsible for the supervision, training, and evaluation of staff; program development, fiscal management, and development of program budgets; maintenance of student service data; maintenance of appropriate records of participants, activities, and eligibility; oversight of preparation and submittal of federal and state annual program reports and proposals for grants.
The Director will directly supervise approximately eight FTEs as well as additional student staff.
This position reports to the Dean of the College of Integrated Studies (LSC) and the Executive Director of TRIO & Scholarship/Grant Programs (SSS).
This is a 100% FTE, annual appointment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree Five years of administrative and/or teaching experience in higher education (combined); at least three of which must be in providing support for the administration and management of programs serving students that are first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and/or have a disability.
Budget development experience Experience supervising staff
Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in educational administration or related field Five years of experience advising students in an institutional setting Five years of experience supervising student workers Experience managing tutorial services in a postsecondary setting Experience working with state and/or federally-funded programs Demonstrated grant writing success Life experiences similar to those of students to be served, research skills, and understanding of university structure Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Responsibilities:
Student Support Services and Supervision Supervise staff; providing direction and support.
Coordinate hiring and training of student staff.
Minimally, but not limited to, provide annual performance reviews for all direct reports.
Follow all UW System, UWW, and departmental policies and procedures for hiring and supervision.
Fiscal Management Maintain grant and applicable state budgets as assigned Oversee the scholarship disbursal process of the SSS student grant aid program in collaboration with the Financial Aid Office.
Coordinate yearly budget contracts as needed Strategic Planning, Policy, and Implementation Establish goals and objectives for the SSS program with both formative and summative evaluation plans.
Establish recruitment procedures and goals annually Manage and support the integrity of student data management resources Define programmatic goals and ensure their proper implementation, autonomously and in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders, within broadly defined strategic goals for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Utilize departmental scholarships and grants to increase capacity for service delivery that includes applicants and recipients Curricular/Program Development and Implementation Direct, design, plan, and administer engagement and enrichment activities for scholars including programs and for-credit courses to assist retention and graduation of project students.
Implement all federally required SSS services and allowable services as appropriate.
Coordinate professional advising and academic coaching services to project students.
Coordinate with the UWW Main Campus Tutoring Center for opportunities to collaborate.
Connect students with sources of financial aid, including project and campus scholarships.
Connect students with other campus-wide HIPs to support academic success.
Evaluation and Reporting Review all SSS student applications for approval during each academic year; determine and document eligibility.
Complete all internal and external reports as requested by individual program contacts, US Department of Education (ED), UW System, and/or, UWW administration Prepare reports to track program development and contributions to UW System and University strategic goals.
Maintain individual student files and ensure that they contain the student intake and eligibility documentation, academic history, grades, and documentation of receipt of service as required by ED.
Additional Responsibilities Adjust work schedule to include occasional weekends and evenings and travel to fulfill professional obligations of overseeing program delivery and events.
Attend training, conferences, and informational meetings as needed Serve as a departmental representative for various campus and community events Represent the University and/or the division on system-wide or community-based committees as assigned.
Participate in divisional and university committees and task forces, including university governance processes, as assigned, nominated, and/or elected.
